51-Year-Old Pullman Woman Receives Maximum Prison Sentence For Dealing Drugs
COLFAX - A 51-year-old Pullman woman has received the maximum prison sentence for dealing narcotics. Lameece Dillsi was sentenced by Judge Gary Libey in Whitman County Superior Court on Friday. Dillsi previously pleaded guilty to three felonies for possessing fentanyl, methamphetamine, and heroin with intent to deliver. Judge Libey sentenced Dillsi to 20 months in prison which is the maximum under the standard range.

4-Year-Old Boy Hit By Car in Whitman County
GARFIELD - A four-year-old boy was seriously injured when he was hit by a car in Garfield on Saturday night. The Whitman County Sheriff’s Office responded to the incident on Union Street around 8:30. Deputies say a resident was backing into their driveway when they hit the boy who was riding a bike on the sidewalk. the boy lives next door to the driver. the child was flown to an area hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The incident remains under investigation.
U.S. Army Corps Of Engineers Rangers Accidentally Spark Small Wildfire Along Snake River
WAWAWAI LANDING: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers rangers' failed attempt to safely discard hot coals sparked a small wildfire on the bank of the Snake River in Whitman County. Whitman County Fire District 14 Volunteer Firefighters out of Colton and Uniontown were called to the small blaze between Wawawai Landing and Granite Point on Monday afternoon. Volunteers quickly extinguished the fire that burned brush along the waterline. District 14 officials say the rangers called in the fire. The federal workers were cleaning out the fire pits along the river when they accidentally started a fire while trying to toss hot coals into the water.

PULLMAN - The Washington State University student accused of threatening students with a knife on campus has been warranted again for not showing up to court. Taylor Asante failed to appear at a court hearing on Friday in Whitman County Superior Court. The hearing involved Asante’s felony harassment case. Asante was arrested by WSU Police in October for allegedly threatening and chasing students with a knife inside a dorm hall. The arrest warrant for Asante includes a 50,000 dollar bond.
