NORTH EAST — If your Mother’s Day gifting plans include flowers or food, there’s a way to do that and support your local farmer.

Chesapeake Gold Farms in North East is your source of locally grown cut flowers. Of course, if you’re looking for hanging or potted flowers, there’s Cline Greenhouse in Elkton. Third Way Farm in Havre de Grace, on the other hand, offers a Mother’s Day Breakfast Bundle marked down from $34 to $30.

Amanda Miller at Chesapeake Gold Farms at 41 Grove Miller Lane has ready to go bouquets of tulips, double tulips and ranunculus that were grown at the farm. A large bouquet of the pink, yellow, orange and white flowers is $25.

In the summer, bouquets will include sunflowers, zinnias, peonies and lisianthus. Miller said lisianthus looks similar to a rose.

“It lasts really long in a vase,” she said.

She also has bouquets of dried flowers harvested from past seasons.

“As I’m going through the seasons I cut them and dry them by hanging them in the barn,” Miller said.

At Third Way Farms, 601 Robin Hood Road, they have a Mother’s Day Breakfast Bundle that includes eggs, bacon, sausage, spinach, one herb of your choice for $30. Order online at https://www.thirdwayfarm.com/ and pick up at the farm or the Havre de Grace Farmers Market.

Saturday from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. — while supplies last — Miller will have bouquets in vases available at the store and also at Newark Farmers Market.

“Last year at the farmers market we sold out in 2 hours,” she cautioned.

However, bouquets and vase bouquets can also be ordered online at https://www.chesapeakegoldfarms.com/flowers .

At Cline Greenhouse, 482 Blake Road in Elkton, Burnard Cline has row after row of potted plants, table gardens and hanging baskets but he can even assemble a custom piece for you.

“I have geraniums, assorted petunias and coleus,” he said as a sampling of what’s available. The cost of the plants begin at $5.75 and go up to as much as $25.

Cline Greenhouse is open Friday from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. and from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Get an idea of what flowers are available for Mother’s Day on the Cline Greenhouse Facebook page.
