Bally’s Casino “On Track” To Open Permanent Casino by 2026
Last September, Bally’s Chicago casino had its grand opening. They are currently set up at the historic Medinah Temple. According to figures from April, it was the first month-over-month decline since they opened. Figures from the Illinois Gaming Board noted that Bally’s Chicago dipped 7% to around $10.4 million. Additionally, visits to the casino dropped by 4% in April as well according to the Chicago Tribune.
SUV crashes into Fannie May candy store in Lincolnwood
CHICAGO (CBS) -- An SUV crashed through the front of a Fannie May candy shop Tuesday afternoon in north suburban Lincolnwood.The crash caused significant damage to a brick wall, cabinets, and a counter after the SUV wound up more than halfway inside the building at 7001 Lincoln Ave., leaving behind a large pile of rubble.Lincolnwood Fire Department Battalion Chief Dean Friedlund said an employee was inside the store at the time of the crash. "She had moved to the other end of the building, and she was not hurt, luckily. We're glad that she moved to the other side of the building," Friedlund said.No one was injured in the crash. It was not immediately clear what caused the crash, or whether the driver was ticketed.Friedlund said the building will need extensive repairs.

Quincy man, Chicago woman facing heroin, gun charges after Monday arrest
QUINCY — A months-long investigation by the West Central Illinois Task Force led to the arrest of two people on Monday on drugs and weapons charges. The West Central Illinois Task Force, Illinois State Police, Adams County Sheriff’s Department and Quincy Police Department began investigating in early 2024 the sale of heroin in Quincy. Officers identified Latwaon McCray, 42, of Quincy as a possible target.
