Madison school board approves $49 million elementary school contract
The Madison Board of Education approved a construction contract on Wednesday for a $49 million elementary school in Limestone County. Pearce Construction was the low bidder among five companies vying to build what will be the district’s eighth elementary school. “It was a great bid,” Superintendent Ed Nichols said. “The cost of bids has been significantly higher in the last few years, but this bid was well under our construction budget of $58 million.”

Madison elementary chooses Phillis Gaines as ‘Staff Member of the Year’
MADISON – The faculty and staff at Madison Elementary School have selected Phillis Gaines as 2024 “Staff Member of the Year.”. Previously, Gaines worked in the banking industry. In 2008, she started working for Madison City Schools at Bob Jones High School as a bookkeeper. “I transferred to Madison Elementary School in 2016 as the school’s secretary and bookkeeper,” she said.
