Springfield Lions Club food drive a success
SPRINGFIELD, Vt. – The Springfield Lions Club hosted its annual food drive on April 20, at Shaw’s in Springfield. Four hundred pounds of food and $454 in monetary donations were collected for the Springfield Family Center. Thank you Shaw’s Grocery Store for the location, and thank you to the greater Springfield community for all your generous donations to help your neighbors.

Concert to close out Fun(d) Run
LUDLOW, Vt. – The Phoenix presents a benefit for the Divided Sky Foundation with the inaugural Music on the Mountain, a live music festival created to celebrate recovery, on Saturday, May 18. This afternoon festival, held at the base of Okemo Mountain in Ludlow, Vt., will take place at 2 p.m., following the Divided Sky Foundation’s annual Fun(d) Run, which occurs at 9 a.m. that morning. Featuring performances by Anders Osborne, Dogs In A Pile, and Saints and Liars, Music on the Mountain will have vendors offering food, water, and nonalcoholic beverages for sale.

Whether in music, visual art or writing, it’s hard to deny that environment plays a pivotal role in creating art. If there’s anything I miss from freshman year, it’s the setup of my beloved room in North Fayerweather Hall. It pains me to say that my dark, carpeted room in Topliff Hall does not have the same creative effect on me as North Faye, with its spacious layout and wood flooring. Although spaces like the Tower Room and Sanborn Library evoke that same essence, I deeply miss the privacy from freshman year that allowed me to write my music out loud.
