J Restaurant Bar announces closing date after agreeing to close for Connecticut Children’s

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) – J Restaurant Bar owners announced Saturday they will officially be closing the restaurant next month after 54 years of business.

Earlier this year, they decided to give up their spot for parking to help out the Connecticut Children’s hospital.

“Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, to our customers for your continued support during this process,” they posted on Facebook . “We also want to thank our past and present employees for making for an amazing 54 years, we could not have done it without you all.”

The restaurant will offer its last full dinner service on June 29 and July 1 through July 3 will include modified menus and hours.

Staff are also asking anyone with photos or memories from their visits to email them to jbarphotoalbum@gmail.com to be included in a public slideshow.

It would have been very kind of them if they did it for free. I’m certain they were compensated for the building and the business.

Very nice of them. Hopefully, they are retiring and can enjoy some traveling with the money they received for the property.
