9 people hurt after deck collapse at Charlotte home
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Several people are in the hospital after a deck collapsed at a west Charlotte home Saturday afternoon. Medic confirmed it happened around 2 p.m. at a riverfront home along Hadlow Court, near the Berryhill Nature Preserve. While it's not known how or why the deck collapsed, Medic said 9 total patients were taken to hospitals for treatment.
Concord Man Sentenced For Hate Crimes
CONCORD, N.C. – A North Carolina man was sentenced to 41 months in prison on federal hate crime charges in two separate incidents about a year apart. In November 2021, Marian Hudak, 52, yelled racial insults to his Hispanic next-door neighbor. Just after, Hudak punched and tackled him, inflicting serious bodily injury to the Hispanic man.
