Man driving moped dies in 2-vehicle crash at Henrico-Hanover line

A man driving a moped was killed in a two-vehicle crash Monday at about 3:19 p.m. on Mechanicsville Turnpike at the Henrico-Hanover line, according to Henrico Police. The crash is currently under investigation.

The moped driver was pronounced dead at the scene, and all eastbound traffic on Mechanicsville Turnpike past Springdale Road was anticipated to be closed for several hours.

The Henrico Police Crash Team is investigating the cause of the crash, and more details are expected to be released later.
