Baseball Game Recap: St. Francis Comes Up Short
St. Francis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dominican Knights. St. Francis was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Dominican apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2015.
No damage after tornado reported in Northwest Kansas
CHEYENNE COUNTY — Thursday's storm brought heavy rain, hail, gusty winds and a tornado to portions of northwest Kansas. The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for Cheyenne County just after 5p.m. Thursday. The rope tornado was reported south of Bird City and was briefly on the ground.
Southwest Public Power District pays taxes to local communities
This week Hamlet, Palisade, Culbertson, Hayes Center, Haigler and Trenton received “in-lieu of tax” payments from Southwest Public Power District totaling $89,760.25.
