Good morning and happy Tuesday!
To students at Richmond and Hagerstown who had prom over the weekend: I hope you had fun! Sorry I was unable to attend and take photos.
To everyone else: Sorry I missed you yesterday. My Monday newsletters are due on Friday afternoons and unfortunately I was loopy from having surgery to remove my wisdom teeth.
I'll spare you photos of the teeth as it's unpleasant, but other than still being in the recovery process, I am doing A-OK! It couldn't keep me away from your inbox two days in a row. Now, let's get on with today's newsletter!

Man sentenced to 55 years for killing father; mistrial in separate molesting case
As I was on the mend over the weekend, my colleague Doug Walker wrote two stories on court proceedings in the county.
James Beau Burkhart, a 19-year-old Centerville man, was sentenced to 55 years in prison after being found guilty of killing his father, James Jason Burkhart, in 2020.
There was also a mistrial declared in the child molesting case against 39-year-old Connersville man Randy E. Oliver. A jury was unable to come to a unanimous verdict and a new trial date hasn't been set yet.
