Fire Chief Metdker leaves behind a legacy in Celina
Coming from a family involved in public safety, Celina Fire Chief Mark Metdker always knew he would serve others in some way. At the age of 18, in 1975, Metdker worked at the McKinney Fire Department for two years. He took five years off from the firehouse to work in an oil field. He was later hired at the Addison Fire Department in 1983, where he served for about 25 years. For the last 16 and a half years, he has been serving the residents of Celina with the fire department.

Construction Begins On All-Ability Playground In Celina, Texas
Construction on a brand-new all-inclusive playground began this week in Celina, Texas. According to Celina Parks and Recreation, the city issued a notice to proceed to Dean Construction to begin construction at the Old Celina Park at 12670 FM 428, on June 10, 2024. Construction is scheduled to be completed by October 2025, weather permitting. Throughout this period, the current playground zone will be inaccessible.
