Baseball Game Recap: Dexter Takes a Loss
Dexter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 4-3 to the Piscataquis Pirates, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Dexter of the 4-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April.

PCHS rallies in seventh to win at Dexter
DEXTER — Trailing 3-1 in the top of the seventh of a May 10 game at Dexter Regional High School, the Piscataquis Community High School baseball team was down to its final out with the bases empty. Following a pair of singles, the Pirates drew four consecutive walks to go ahead 4-3 and then hold on with a perfect seventh inning as sophomore pitcher Noah Kain finished the complete game and the team improved to 6-2 — winning for the fifth time in its last six contests.

Dispatch center move is ahead of schedule
DOVER-FOXCROFT — The construction process to move the Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center from cramped conditions in the county jail in Dover-Foxcroft into the administrative unit of the sheriff’s office on the first floor of the same larger building has been underway for over two months. So far the project is on pace to be completed ahead of schedule, County Manager Michael Williams said during a meeting on Tuesday morning, May 7.
