Staggs named Dew ISD Principal

Kris Staggs has been named the Dew ISD Principal. Staggs has been serving as the Dew ISD Counselor for a number of years. The change was made effective immediately on April 9.

“I am very excited and hope to make a positive impact on all students and staff at Dew ISD,” Staggs said.

Over the last 23 years in education, Staggs has worked as a Tennis Coach, Special Education Teacher, Diagnostician, School Counselor and Assistant Principal.

“I am thankful the Dew ISD board of trustees has given me the opportunity to work in a new capacity for Dew ISD. I look forward to being a positive support for all students and staff,” Staggs said. “My goal is for Dew to be a school that students love to attend and staff want to be a part of. To leave a lasting positive impression on all who are a part of our school.”

Staggs grew up in Groesbeck and graduated from Groesbeck High School.

Staggs graduated from Southwest Texas State University, now called Texas State with a degree in Kinesiology.

She has her Masters in Special Education and Educational Leadership.

She also has a Post Masters Degree in School Counseling.

Her teaching certifications are All level PE, Special Education, Diagnostician, School Counseling and Principal.

Kris is married to Jerry Staggs and they have four children, two sons and two daughters.

Her and her husband enjoy traveling and spending time with their family.

“I love being a part of the Dew ISD family and I look forward to continuing my career with Dew ISD,” Staggs said.
