2 heavily-camouflaged minors charged after ‘assassins' game at school in Old Lyme
Two people were charged Tuesday after they caused concern while playing the "assassins" game in Old Lyme. State police responded to the area of Lyme Street around 6:45 a.m. after receiving reports of two people wearing camouflage and moving through the bushes near the Lyme/Old Lyme Center School, according to authorities.
Scam Alert: Suffolk County Man Busted for Selling Phantom Car Insurance
Suffolk County Police today arrested a man for selling fake car insurance to a Shirley man last month. A Shirley man contacted police on March 29 after he gave money to pay for an auto insurance policy to Joseph Cawley, an independent insurance broker, on March 16 but did not receive any identification cards for the policy. In total, the victim paid more than $1,550 for the policy, which did not exist.
