Samantha Culbertson

Artist Samantha Culbertson painted the mural. She has over a decade of industry experience and enjoys collaborating with others, including local start-ups and global corporations. Culbertson specializes in custom-made work and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from East Tennessee State University.

“The Greene County Partnership was delighted to collaborate with Frontier Health and artist Samantha Culbertson to develop this new vibrant mural. Our hopes are that it brings joy to all who pass by it daily, whether driving, walking, or visiting the center, ” said the General Manager of the Greene County Partnership, Aly Collins.

Culbertson told News Channel 11 about her own mental health experiences and how it affects her as an artist today.

“I’ve suffered from mental health challenges of my own,” Culbertson said. “I think we probably all have, so just having a little reminder that you matter, you’re doing great, and things are going to be OK is just an important message for everyone to internalize.”

Culbertson said her empathetic nature and listening skills allow her to tailor her work to each client’s needs. She also talked about her design choices for the mural.

“I just had the feeling of birds because there’s a lot of freedom, there’s a lot of movement, and having them all in different colors represents the differences in all of us and how we’re all unique, but yet we still matter at the end of the day,” she said.

The mural trail is located at 115 Academy Street, Greeneville, TN. Visit the trail’s website for more information or to view images of the trail.
