DNR announces drawdown for Grand River Marsh Wildlife Area
MADISON, Wis. (WBAY) - The Wisconsin DNR plans to lower water levels this spring at the Grand River Marsh Wildlife Area in Marquette and Green Lake counties. The DNR says drawdown will begin this spring, and water levels will be lowered slowly until full drawdown is achieved in early summer. The drop in water levels is necessary to conduct cattail mowing within the marsh. By drawing down the water, DNR staff can access and mow select areas.

It’s quite a chilly day for a late April day! High temperatures will only reach in the 40s near the Bay and Lakeshore, to the lower 50s well inland. Fortunately, the winds have calmed down and will stay calm for the rest of today into nightfall. Wednesday night will be mostly clear with calm winds and cold lows in the upper 20s and lower 30s. A Freeze Watch has been issued for Fond du Lac, Sheboygan, and Green Lake County until Thursday morning. If you have plants outside, try covering them up or bring them indoors.
