Kearney Catholic, Chase County, Axtell & McCool Junction win state track & field team titles
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Dozens of area teams competed at the NSAA State Track & Field Championships in Classes C and D on Friday and Saturday at Omaha Burke. The Kearney Catholic Stars won the Class C girls team title with 86.5 points. Sophomore Hazel Haarberg won two golds, 100 meter dash and 200 meter dash. Sophomore Alyssa Onnen won two golds, pole vault and triple jump. The Stars also won the 4x100 meter relay.

Local chapter delivers pollinator habitat outreach program with CCS
In an effort to support outdoor education and diverse wildlife habitat for the future of pollinators and upland gamebirds, the Southwestern Nebraska Chapter of Pheasants Forever has partnered with Imperial FFA Chapter members and 3rd grade Chase County Schools students to deliver the organization’s signature “Pollinator Habitat Outreach Program” at the PF Chapter’s Youth Memorial Park. Pheasants Forever and more than 40 elementary students gathered on May 8 to plant a native prairie while learning about pollinators, plants, and prairie ecosystems.
