Road closures scheduled for Westlake in association with I-10 bridge project
With construction officially underway on the Interstate-10 Calcasieu River Bridge project, there will soon be short- and long-term road closures. On Thursday, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announced in a news release that there will be upcoming road closures in Westlake for the relocation of sections of pipe rack from Phillips 66 in association with the I-10 bridge project, known for its pistol decor.

Bechtel picked for $4.69B Sabine Pass LNG expansion in Louisiana
Bechtel has added another major project to its portfolio of liquefied natural gas jobs, this time at Sabine Pass in Louisiana. The Reston, Virginia-based builder has received a limited notice to proceed on Train 7, a part of Phase 1 of the Sabine Pass Liquefaction Expansion Project in Cameron Parish, Louisiana, the contractor announced on May 28. Bechtel is contracted for $4.69 billion, per a Securities and Exchange Commission filing from owner Cheniere Energy on May 22.

Truck hits new I-10 detour crash bar in Westlake within days of installation
WESTLAKE, La. (KPLC) - The clearance beam under I-10 in Westlake has once again been damaged. An 18-wheeler hit the beam Sunday afternoon, just days after a new crash bar was installed. According to Westlake Police, traffic reopened May 28 after the installaion was complete on the new clearance beam.

New 65-Mile Pelican Pipeline Spur Aims To Supercharge Cameron Parish LNG
WhiteWater is sketching out a new piece of pipe for southwest Louisiana: a roughly 65-mile lateral that would plug its Pelican pipeline system directly into the proposed Commonwealth LNG export terminal in Cameron Parish. The planned Pelican Thrasher Lateral is a 42-inch line designed to move about 2.5 billion cubic feet per day, with an in-service target in the first half of 2029, according to company materials. The route is mapped from the Gillis area in Beauregard Parish down to the Commonwealth site on the Calcasieu Ship Channel, giving the Gulf Coast export corridor another dedicated feed of gas.
