    St. Lawrence Co. woman facing charges after fentanyl bust

    GOUVERNEUR, N.Y. (WWTI) – A 44-year-old Gouverneur woman is being held in jail without bail for alleged fentanyl possession.

    According to the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, Melissa Gordon and three Rochester residents during a traffic stop Wednesday night.

    Authorities allege that Gordon along with 30-year-old Dennis Felder Jr., 26-year-old Andre Bonilla, and 34-year-old Raymond Brown was found with approximately 28 grams of fentanyl after a traffic stop Wednesday night after being stopped for speeding on Route 37 in the town of Morristown.

    The four were charged with  felony counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and all were arraigned in the Morristown Town Court.

    Gordon was sent to the St. Lawrence County Jail without bail according to officials due to two previous felony convictions.

    The other three suspects were released on recognizance citing “New York State bail reform.”

    Sheriff’s officials were assisted by the New York State Police, U.S. Border Patrol, Homeland Security Investigations, Ogdensburg Police Department, Canton Police Department, and the St. Lawrence County Drug Task Force.
