Water level restored after overnight drop
ELKHART — The water level on the Upper St. Joseph River has returned to normal summer pool depth after unexpectedly dropping overnight by 6 inches. Indiana Michigan (I&M) attributed the drop to “lower than normal inflows” and a recent lack of rain. Syracuse’s Chautauqua organization has both fun with dogs and fun with patriotism planned with two free programs in June. Their first annual dress-up dog parade will be held at the Oakwood Resort on Saturday, June 22 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Participants may decorate carts, wagons, strollers, leashes, as well as dress up with their dogs. Awards will be presented to the best dressed dog, best dog trick, best tail wag and other categories.
Leesburg Council Hears About Barking Dog Complaints
LEESBURG — There have been multiple complaints about barking dogs on East Prairie Street, Street Commissioner Craig Charlton announced at the Leesburg Town Council meeting Monday. Charlton said the homeowner has been made aware of the complaints, but the barking has continued. The dogs are confined outside, Charlton said.
