Adams Fire has Goldfield ranch community prepared to evacuate
A wildfire that started Sunday afternoon in the Lower Sycamore area of Tonto National Forest has grown by thousands of acres in less than a day. Now, some area residents have been told to prepare to evacuate.
Tracking a dry Sunday before storms return
After a few showers earlier this morning and afternoon, the sun returned for the rest of the afternoon and evening on Saturday with a high temp in the low 70s. We'll continue with sunshine and dry weather on Sunday, but clouds will roll in later in the day and so will the chance for storms. Some storms could be strong west of I-35 Sunday evening and overnight. An active weather pattern will continue with a chance for storms on Monday and Tuesday with highs near 80 before sunshine and drier weather arrive for the rest of the week. Temps will cool to around 70 for the second half of next week.

Joint active shooter training taking place at Mason City High School this month
MASON CITY, Iowa - The Mason City Police Department and Mason City Fire Department will be conducting joint active shooter drills at the high school during June. MCPD says residents will see lots of emergency vehicles in the area of the school while training is going on. The agencies are working together to improve their response in the aftermath of an active shooter incident. Live role players will bring realism to the training.
