Suspect arrested, charged with murder of Goldsboro man

GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WNCT) — Goldsboro police announced the arrest of a man who was wanted for the murder of another man early Saturday.

A warrant was issued for the arrest of Hakeem Khalib Coley, 20, for the murder of Kristopher Marquise Faison, 26, of Goldsboro. Coley was taken into custody in the 800 block of Olivia Lane without incident at around 7:19 p.m. Saturday by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office ACE Team.

Coley went before a magistrate and was given no bond. He was charged with first-degree murder and possession of a stolen gun. He was placed in the Wayne County Detention Center. His first court appearance is Monday.

Police responded Saturday morning at around 9:10 a.m. to a ShotSpotter alert at 718 E. Ash St. They found Faison, who had been shot. He was taken to UNC Health Wayne, where he died.
