Fireworks to light up Beverly Farm June 29
Beverly Farm Foundation will welcome the public to a special fireworks display later this month. The annual event will be held on the evening of Saturday June 29 and will also include music from the Beverly Farm resident choir. There is no charge to attend, and you’re encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chair to enjoy the event.
Alton celebrates Juneteenth with day of fun events
ALTON, Ill. (First Alert 4) - People of all ages gathered on Saturday to celebrate freedom in anticipation of the upcoming Juneteenth Holiday. Alton’s 33rd Juneteenth celebration, one of the longest-running in the state, took place Saturday at Killion Park, featuring music, entertainment, vendors, games and a keynote speech by Illinois U.S. Sen. Tammy Duckworth.
Alton School District hires new building administrators
The Alton School Board recently voted to fill three vacancies on the school district’s administrative team. Andrea Leonard will become the special education supervisor for grades six through twelve. Tarah Rottman was chosen to be the next principal at Mark Twain School. And, Dr. Tim Jones is coming from Lafayette High School in Missouri to be an assistant principal at Alton High.

More work on Clark Bridge starts Monday
The Illinois Department of Transportation today announced lane restrictions will be encountered on southbound US 67 (Clark Bridge) beginning Monday, June 17, 2024, at 8:30 a.m., weather permitting. The left lane on the Illinois Approach of the Clark bridge will be closed. The left turn lane at IL 143 (Landmarks Blvd) will also be closed preventing access onto the Clark Bridge from the south.

Bethalto Treasurer Aleisha Randolph said keeping an eye on spending has allowed the village to stash some reserve funds which will now be used for projects in fiscal year 24-25.
