GLOUSTER — At this point, you only have one more opportunity to show out at home, might as well make it count.

Scoring in every inning possible in a dominant showing at home on Tuesday, Trimble completely dominated Notre Dame en route to easy Sectional championship victory. Grabbing 14 hits as a team in just six innings, the Tomcats would secure a 10-0 mercy rule defeat to help advance to the next stage of the postseason.

Nine different batters would record a hit for Trimble in the all-around team effort. Chayse Henry would finish with three hits and a run scored while Owen Sikorski added three RBIs and a run scored in a 2-2 effort at the plate. Paul Sharp would also grab a pair of RBIs on a couple of hits while Bradley Cahoe picked up an RBI and a run scored on a pair of hits.

Brandon Burdette and Will Sharp would each grab an RBI on one hit while Bennie Warren, Cole Wright and Trent Pettit also grabbed a hit and a run scored in the victory.

Cahoe also got the nod to start on the mound, twirling another gem in another impressive outing for him. Cahoe would toss all six innings, allowing just three hits in a shutout performance while striking out eight and allowing just two walks.

For the Titans, it was a struggle all day on the road. Grabbing just three hits as a team, Landon Barbartis, Bryce McGraw and Luke Cassidy would each grab a single throughout the afternoon.

Ethan Kingrey would get the start for Notre Dame, lasting just four outs as he allowed three runs on three hits while walking three. Braxton Jones and McGraw wouldn’t fare too well either, each allowing at least three runs in their limited action.

Trimble would jump out to a commanding lead early in the afternoon with four runs in the first two innings. A fielder’s choice groundout would give the Tomcats an opening lead in the first inning before RBI hits from Cahoe and Sikorski in the final moments of the second opened up the lead.

After running into a bit of trouble in the third with a couple of Titans’ runners reaching base, an RBI single from Sharp would highlight a two-run bottom of the frame, making it a 6-0 game heading into the fourth.

In the fourth, Trimble would tack onto the lead with RBI singles from Paul and Will Sharp before a sacrifice fly from Sikorski in the fifth made it a nine-run game.

After sending the Titans down in order, the first four runners would reach base in the bottom of the sixth for Trimble, culminating in an RBI walk-off single from Burdette to secure the victory.

Looking to ride the massive wave of momentum into the District stage, the Tomcats are matched up against a familiar foe. Up against fellow Tri-Valley Conference-Hocking member Eastern, Trimble will face the Eagles on May 18 at Paints Stadium in Chillicothe. The Tomcats are 0-2 on the season against Eastern with their last matchup coming just under a month ago.
