CASPER, Wyo. –– Rapidly rising fuel prices are eating into the budgets of Wyoming organizations that help local producers and those facing food insecurity. “Transportation is not an easy task, and any one of my transportation routes is pretty much a 500-mile round trip,” said Eat Wyoming owner LeAnn Miller. “Our transportation is our number-one expense, and it is by far much larger than any other expense.” She added that current fuel prices are “killing me.”

CASPER, Wyo. — Natrona County gas prices rose about 2 cents over the past week to an average of $4.21 per gallon Monday, according to AAA data. Wyoming’s statewide average sits higher at roughly $4.49 per gallon, up 3 cents, while the AAA national average stands at $4.47 per gallon, up 17 cents. GasBuddy, which gathers its data from driver reports, said the national average for gasoline rose 18.5 cents to $4.44 per gallon. That’s up 34.4 cents from a month ago and $1.30 from a year ago.
