Little League swings into action

Junior softball sweeps games versus Bishop
Kern Valley’s Junior Little League softball team started strong as they swept a pair of games from Bishop. The offense proved to be up to the task as they scored a total of 30 runs in the double header. The long trip to get top the games in Bishop did not deter the Broncs from grabbing both games. In game one Kern Valley was a 13-7 winner. They came back and used the broom to win 17-1.
Brody Roa Goes for Two Uscs Wins in a Row Saturday at Kern County
Brody Roa, one of the top traditional sprint car drivers west of the Mississippi, will try to make it two in a row when the Ultimate Sprint Car Series Presented By Inland Rigging visits Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway this Saturday, May 4th, for the Dave Calderwood Memorial. Two weeks ago the Garden Grove, California veteran racer won the series inaugural race on the other side of town at the Bakersfield Speedway.

Broncs grab two games to stay in second
The Kern Valley varsity baseball team collected a pair of wins in league play conclude the week in second place. They currently sit in second place one-half game ahead of Cal City. The Broncs sit at 7-3, while Cal City is at 6-3. They both trail Bishop who is at 9-0.
Lady Broncs “track” down league title
Kern Valley’s girls track team made it three straight league titles after defeating Cal City 98-15. It was another lopsided victory for the Lady Broncs as they won 12 events. They followed that up with nine athletes coming in the runner up spot. They finished off with seven third-place finishes. As a team they swept five events. Kern Valley swept the both the 100m and 300m hurdles. They also jumped their way to the sweep in the long jump, triple jump and high jump. This collection of Lady Broncs secured an undefeated league season to claim the HDL championship.
