West Virginia woman dies over month after being found handcuffed, shot in head
FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (WOWK) — A Fayette County, West Virginia, woman has died after she was found almost a month ago handcuffed and suffering a gunshot wound. West Virginia State Police (WVSP) says the Oak Hill Police Department stopped a vehicle in the Plateau Medical Center parking lot on Feb. 16. Michelle Dawn Smith, 41, of Fayetteville, was found in the vehicle handcuffed with a gunshot wound to the head, according to WVSP.

Mar. 31—Raleigh County man sentenced to more than 12 years in prison for distributing fentanyl. beckley, w.va. — Sean Hafesh, 34, of Daniels, Raleigh County, was sentenced Thursday to 12 years and seven months in prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release, for distributing fentanyl.
CAMC now owns Oak Hill hospital
OAK HILL, W.Va. — CAMC has finalized the purchase of the Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill. The deal, announced a few months ago, became final Saturday. Charges stemming from Fayette County shooting may be upgraded after victim dies
FAYETTE COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS) — State Police report the victim of a Fayette County shooting has died and charges for an Indiana couple may be upgraded to first-degree murder. Michelle Dawn Smith, 41, of Fayetteville died Friday of injuries sustained in a shooting in Oak Hill, according to a news release from West Virginia State Police. Investigators said Smith was found in a vehicle at the Plateau Medical Center in February 2023 handcuffed and suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.
