We’ll enjoy some wonderful spring weather to end the week
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Our Friday will start with quite a bit of sunshine. But like the last few days, we’ll see some increasing clouds by this afternoon. Some stray sprinkles will be possible, but no measurable rain is expected. Winds will be a bit breezy out of the northwest at 8 to 18 mph and some gusts could reach 25 mph. It’ll be a warmer day as highs range from the lower 70s west to the upper 70s east. Skies will clear up quickly this evening and temperatures will dip back into the 40s by tomorrow morning. Something to keep in mind is that solar activity has been very active this week. This could line up for a chance to see the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights). Saturday should be a warmer day with lighter winds mostly around and less than 10 mph. There will be plenty of sunshine with a few clouds coming in from the southwest later in the day. Highs will reach the mid to upper 70s and lower 80s. The aforementioned clouds from the southwest are the approach of the next chance of rain that will come for the second half of the weekend. Showers and isolated thunderstorms move through the area Saturday night into Sunday, bringing some decent rain for Mother’s Day. Chances are better farther south than farther north. Highs on Sunday will be more wide-ranging. The coolest highs will be in the south in the mid 60s. The warmest highs will be in the north and northeast in the mid to upper 70s. Some showers will stick around Sunday night into Monday with the best chance over southeastern areas. It’ll be mainly dry Monday night into Tuesday. Temperatures will start to rise back up those two days. Chances for showers and thunderstorms increase Tuesday night into Wednesday. This will also bring another slight cool-down. The severe weather threat again remains low. Temperatures start to come back up again Thursday with lower chances of rain.
