Police Identify Edison Resident Killed in Early Morning Accident on Route 1
EDISON, NJ - Police have identified the Edison resident who was killed in an early morning accident on Route 1. Raul Montoya-Chavez, age 22, was hit by an SUV while riding on an electric scooter on Wednesday morning, according to authorities. Police say the accident occurred at 1:46 AM on Route 1 South at the intersection of Plainfield Avenue. According to the affidavit for probable cause obtained by Daily Voice, Solomon Blay was in a white SUV when he approached his victim, who was walking home from school. Blay called the girl over to his vehicle, asked her age, and if she wanted a ride home, police papers said. She agreed, but instead of taking the girl home, Blay took her to his home, a basement of a home on Brighton Street in Union, the affidavit says.

NEWARK, NJ — A Rahway man was sentenced on Monday to 33 months in prison for his role in a conspiracy that targeted residences belonging to Asian small business owners, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger announced. Kevin Jackson, 57, of Rahway, New Jersey, previously pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Evelyn Padin to one count of conspiracy to commit interstate transportation of stolen property. Cops arrest rifle-toting, camouflage-clad man seen walking around N.J. neighborhood
A camouflage-wearing man seen walking around a Clifton neighborhood Wednesday afternoon with a rifle strapped to his body was arrested shortly thereafter, police said. Officers found the man in the area of Union Avenue an Sixth Street at 3:10 p.m. and when he saw them, he retreated into his home, according to a release from the Clifton Police Department.
