A food truck festival for Mother's Day
The fourth annual Lakes Region Food Truck Festival was put on by the Lakes Region Chamber at Tanger Outlets Tilton on Saturday. There were 15 food trucks as well as mobile displays from RePete's Comic Shop and T-Mobile that attended the festival. This year's theme was Mother's Day, and a couple vendors had Mother's Day-themed products and activities. Pours & Petals Mobile Bar and Catering offered Mama-rita and Mom-osa drinks, Granite State Credit Union provided sunflower seeds in a biodegradable pot with soil, and Breezeline set up a Mother's Day-themed selfie station. Music was also provided by Mix 91.1 FM.

WOLFEBORO, N.H. — The killing of a Wolfeboro woman on Mother's Day in 2009 remains unsolved. Stacey Burns, 41, was found stabbed to death in her home at 109 North Main St. The school nurse and mother of five was stabbed multiple times while two of her children and some of their friends slept in nearby rooms.
Wolfeboro man sentenced to prison for torturing, killing cats
MANCHESTER, N.H. — A Wolfeboro man is facing a sentence of up to 12 years in state prison for torturing and killing cats. Brendan Elwell has been sentenced to five to 12 years in state prison for torturing and killing about a dozen cats and kittens. He pleaded guilty to multiple counts of animal cruelty.
