Bakersfield High School golfer Connor James Jones, left, placed 37th in the 2024 Class 1 State Championship meet May 13-14 at Twin Hills Golf & Country Club in Joplin with a score of 92 on day 1 and 86 on day 2, totaling 178. His fellow golf teammate Kyden Alvardo, right, took 70th place with a score of 99 on day 1 and 93 on day 2, totaling 192. The course is par 72.

Ward named Ozarka’s Outstanding Faculty of the Year
Justin Ward (pictured), math instructor at Ozarka College, has been named 2024 Outstanding Faculty of the Year, according to the Melbourne-based college. “Teaching math across various programs and online platforms, Ward has demonstrated versatility and dedication in ensuring that students receive the support and guidance they need to succeed,” Ozarka College said in a release.
