    Gatlinburg-Pittman soccer wins third state title since 2018

    MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WATE) — Gatlinburg-Pittman boys soccer continued its recent success at the state tournament winning the program’s third state title since 2018 with a 2-1 win over Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences.

    Both teams were held scoreless in the first half, but the Highlanders quickly found goal in the second half. In the 42nd minute, Eli Colbert blasted a penalty into the top left corner for the 1-0 advantage.

    South Doyle soccer wins program’s first state title

    G-P was given another penalty with 25 minutes left in regulation. Brandon Ramirez slotted it into the lower left corner to double the Highlanders lead.

    The Patriots cut Gatlinburg-Pittman’s lead in half with a goal in the 59th minute, but G-P hung on to that score to win the Class A state title.

    Bearden soccer takes home the Class AAA state title

    Gatlinburg-Pittman is now 15-3 all-time in the state tournament.
