— Cross County held off a fourth-quarter rally by North Bend to defeat the Tigers 61-53 in the C2-5 boys district basketball final Monday night. Celebrating FCCLA with dress up days
February 12-15 was a week devoted to Family, Career and Community Leaders of America. The FCCLA members put together different themes for students to follow during the week. Monday was cartoon day, Tuesday was career day, Wednesday was FCCLA day, and Thursday was alumni day. FCCLA member Jazminlett Bernel shared that FCCLA week “will make students want to be involved.” FCCLA week is the one time a year where the school gets to celebrate both FCCLA and Family and Consumer Science Education. It raises awareness of what members have accomplished and what non-members can be a part of.

FFA Chapter gives thanks to area Ag people
The Schuyler FFA Chapter held an Ag Appreciation Night on February 9th. This was the second year the event was held. There were thirty-three FFA members and seven parents who were involved in the event. During the Ag Appreciation night, the FFA members ran the concessions stand, sold tickets for a “split the pot” raffle, served pork sandwich meals, sold merchandise, held a free will donation, and presented a slideshow in recognition between varsity basketball games. The FFA Chapter had three sponsors this year; Didier’s, QC Supply, and the Schuyler Community Chamber of Commerce.

Concordia Hosts 2024 Nebraska Science Bowl
Concordia recently hosted the Nebraska Science Bowl on Saturday, Feb. 3 for middle school students and Saturday, Feb. 17 for high school students. The U.S. Department of Energy sponsors the competition, which is a qualifying event for the National Science Bowl. The national competition will take place in Washington, D.C., on April 25-29. This is the third year that Concordia has hosted the state event.

SEWARD, Neb. – A crew of 32 athletes will be headed to Brookings, S.D., in representation of Concordia University Track & Field at the 2024 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships. For the fifth time, the Sanford Jackrabbit Athletic Complex will serve as the venue for the NAIA’s indoor national meet. The first action from a Bulldog perspective will come in the women’s pentathlon as Josi Noble and Zoey Walker take center stage late in the morning on Thursday.
