Two men arrested following Oakland incident
OAKLAND — Two New York men have been arrested following an incident in Oakland. According to Garrett County Sheriff Bryson Meyers, on March 21, detectives with the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division, Sheriff’s deputies, narcotics detectives, Sheriff’s Office K-9, and the Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigator responded to Mitchell Drive, Oakland, for a home invasion.
Maryland State Police Investigate Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash in Garrett County
GRANTVILLE, MD – Brandy Jo McKenzie, a 37-year-old woman from Oakland, Maryland, died in a two-vehicle crash in Garrett County yesterday morning. According to the Maryland State Police, the driver of a Ford Taurus, McKenzie, was traveling north on MD Route 495 when for unknown reasons, she entered the southbound lane after exiting a right-hand curve and struck a Ram 1500. The crash caused the Taurus to catch fire, which spread to the front of the Ram. The driver of the Ram refused medical treatment on the scene.
