NEWPORT - Down 4-1 after five innings, Belfast baseball came back to defeat Nokomis 8-6 on Wednesday for their fourth win in five games. The Warriors got on the board first with RBIs in the bottom of the first inning by Owen Menard and Tom Nyce to go up 2-0. Menard added a second RBI in the bottom of third and yet another in the fourth to make it 4-0.

Butler named Piscataquis County Ice Arena director
DOVER-FOXCROFT — Foxcroft Academy, serving as the managing partner of the Piscataquis County Ice Arena for the Libra Foundation, is pleased to announce the promotion of Lucas Butler to the position of director of PCIA. Mulberry Grove and Nokomis squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Mulberry Grove had to settle for second. They lost 15-5 to the Nokomis Redskins. Mulberry Grove was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Nokomis apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April.
