Collection box at Jefferson Co. post office broken into, contents stolen over the weekend
JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC) - A collection box at a Jefferson County post office was broken into over the weekend, the United State Postal Service (USPS) confirmed. “The US Postal Inspection Service is aware of the break-in to the blue collection box at the Shannon Post Office over the weekend,” the USPS said in a statement to WBRC. “While the U.S. Mail remains one of the most secure means to transmit such items, unfortunately, these items are also attractive to thieves.”

Two burglary suspects are behind bars after police found them hiding under the HVAC system inside a Tarrant pharmacy. Police responded to a burglary alarm at 12:44 a.m. Sunday at Kessler’s Pharmacy on East Lake Boulevard. They canvassed the area and determined at least one suspect was still inside.
