Summer is just around the corner and there’s no better activity than grabbing cotton candy and spending all your change on carnival games at one of NYC’s many fests! One particular favorite of ours is the Astoria Park Carnival that’s returning this June. Here’s everything you need to know about the 2024 Astoria Park Carnival. The Astoria Park Carnival is an annual festival in Queens complete with rides, games and fair food. The 2024 Astoria Park Carnival is from Wednesday, June 5th to Sunday, June 9th. Hours of operation are from 4pm-10pm Wednesday through Friday and 12pm-11:59pm on Saturday and Sunday. The Astoria Carnival grounds are under the RFK Bridge at the corner of Hoyt Ave. N and 19th St.

Red Lobster abruptly closed at least 48 locations across the U.S. as the seafood restaurant chain faces financial trouble, according to a leading restaurant liquidator. Liquidator TAGeX Brands announced on Monday that it’s holding online auctions for select Red Lobster restaurants closing in 21 states. The auctions, which include fixtures, furniture, and equipment, run through Thursday, May 16.

N.Y. Lottery: Multiple top prizes worth $7K sold for TAKE 5 game; 2 sold in NYC
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Multiple top-prize winning tickets were sold in New York state for a recent TAKE 5 drawing, according to lottery officials. The New York Lottery announced that four winning tickets worth $7,609 were sold for the May 12 TAKE 5 evening drawing. Two of the prizes were sold in New York City — one winning ticket each at K&S Grocery Deli Corp, located at 1403 Fulton St., in Brooklyn, and 7-Eleven, located at 22-50 College Point Blvd., in College Point, Queens.
Wild turkey spotted in Brooklyn
BUSHWICK, Brooklyn (PIX11) – Another wild turkey has been spotted roaming New York City streets – this time, in Brooklyn. The animal was spotted in a tree near St. Brigid-St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Academy in Bushwick. It’s not clear if this turkey was the same turkey spotted in Midtown last week.
