Everyone on the Ganado Maidens varsity basketball team earned honors of some kind when All-District and Academic All-State teams were recently released.

Chloe Gresham and Logan Tupa earned All-State Academic recognition by the Texas High School Coaches Association. Tupa was named Academic All-State boys first team and Gresham was named to the girls second team.

Junior Zoey Ybarra made the All-District first team, averaging 10.6 points per game, along with 4.5 rebounds, 4.5 steals, and 2.3 assists for the Maidens, who finished 13-19 overall and in fifth place in district with a 4-8 record.

Junior post Isabel Tristan made second team All-District after averaging 4.3 points and 6.4 rebounds.

Named to the Honorable Mention All-District team were freshman Laci Holt (4.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 2.7 steals) sophomore Aileen Zavala (2.3 points, 2.1 rebounds) and sophomore Trinity Mayfield (1.7 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.1 steals).

In addition, proving that they take their books as seriously as they take their box outs, the entire girls varsity team made the Academic All-District team. They are senior Alexis Zikuhr and team manager Gresham; juniors Lindsey Rodrigues, Annalyse Thedford, Emily Thedford, Isabel Tristan, manager Kara Tupa and Zoey Ybarra; sophomores Trinity Mayfield and Aileen Zavala; and freshmen Michaela Estrada, Paisley Hajovsky and Laci Holt.

On the boys side, junior Bryce Ullman made the All-District first team. Two more Indians starters, Tupa and Cain Hayden, earned second team honors. No other information was available.
