Woman accused of stealing rent money from Tyler apartment tenants avoids jailtime
TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - A Richardson woman has avoided jail time after being accused of stealing money from Tyler apartment tenants. Sedona Francis, 24, was arrested in February on a charge of felony theft of no less than $2,500 and no more than $30,000. In March, Francis entered a guilty plea in Smith County Judge Taylor Heaton’s court and was initially sentenced to five years of probation, which she will be allowed to serve in Dallas County, as well as perform 280 hours community service. On Thursday, Francis’ sentence was amended to include the payment of $2,202 in restitution to the victims. However, should she violate the terms of probation, she would face two years in state prison.
