Cleanup underway after train derails near Orono golf course
ORONO, Maine (WABI) — The cause of a weekend train derailment in Orono remains under investigation as recovery crews work to clear the site near a local golf course. On Saturday, 13 of the 32 cars on a CSX train went off the tracks. By Monday, a company spokesperson confirmed that only six cars remained to be removed, with expectations that the entire area would be cleared by Monday night.

Ellsworth boil water order continues; repairs now causing traffic diversions
ELLSWORTH, Maine (WABI) - Some residents in Ellsworth are still boiling their water Thursday after a water main break Wednesday on Bridge Hill. The water main break has been repaired, however City crews are now coordinating with MaineDOT on repairs to the section of Bridge Hill impacted by the break, according to city officials.

Train Derails in the College Town of Orono
On Saturday, in Orono, a train derailment occurred around the Main Street area and near the Penobscot Valley Country Club. 13 of the 32 CSX train cars derailed. According to the Orono Fire Department, no injuries were report nor any spills, hazards, or leaks that could’ve affected the nearby Penobscot River.
