Mercer County man accused of hurting toddler

FREDONIA, Pa. ( WJET/WFXP )– A Pennsylvania man was arrested after admitting to striking a toddler resulting in injuries, according to state police.

According to PSP Mercer, troopers were called to a home in Fredonia Borough on April 10 after the mother discovered injuries to her 3-year-old daughter’s backside and face.

The mother of the toddler said she left the child in the care of the man while she worked and discovered the injuries when she got home.

Police later confronted the 31-year-old unnamed Fredonia, Pa. man at his residence where they said he admitted to striking the toddler “out of discipline” before arresting him.

Police also said the suspect is being held in the Mercer County Jail on unspecified charges.
