History was going to be made one way or another in the championship game of the MSHSAA Class 4 District 1 Baseball Tournament on Wednesday at Cape Central High School. Neither Dexter nor Fredericktown had won a District title as far back as anyone could recall (1998 for the Bearcats was the best guess while it had been longer for the Blackcats). However, Fredericktown had the arms to break that curse, as junior hurlers Ryan Souden and Ethan Marler were spectacular in the semifinal and title games, respectively, and the Blackcats topped Dexter 4-2.

Bollinger County to launch project to update 911 mapping
MARBLE HILL, Mo. (KFVS) - Bollinger County 911 will launch a Countywide GIS Remediation Project to update the 911 mapping. According to the City of Marble Hill, this update will be to improve 911 services throughout the county and the State of Missouri. The project is funded by grants using federal ARPA funds.
Farmington woman seriously injured in traffic crash
WAYNE COUNTY, Mo. (KFVS) - A Farmington woman was seriously injured in a single-vehicle traffic crash in Wayne County. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crash Reports, the crash took place around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 11. The driver was going northbound on US Highway 67, a quarter of a mile north of Highway F.
