Photo gallery of No. 4 Gibraltar Carlson hosting Livonia Franklin in a D2 football district finals matchup
After grinding out a 14-0 win vs Detroit Mumford in its playoff opener last week, the Gibraltar Carlson football team resumed its Division 2 postseason run Friday night. Playing in it sixth district championship game in as many years, Carlson was looking to make it four such titles in a row. Up next for the undefeated Marauders was a perenially battle-tested Livonia Franklin team, which ousted Carlson’s Downriver League rival Allen Park the week prior by a score of 35-28. Carlson once more found itself in another low-scoring playoff affair Friday night. This time, however, it did not go in their favor as the visiting Patriots from Franklin gutted out a 17-6 win to end the season for the Marauders.
