Go ‘out to the ball game’ in Lockport and support cancer research
On Saturday, enjoy a full day of baseball and softball games while also helping brain cancer research. The CC2 Forever Foundation will host its annual Strike Out Cancer event from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Flink Field in Lockport. The cost is just $5 for a full day of games or $20 for games as well as food and beverages.
Senior Living Residents Displaced Following Weekend Power Outage
Around 225 residents of an east side Senior Living home are now looking for other places to stay after a power outage over the weekend. Joshua Arms, near Rowell Avenue, lost power on Sunday after a pipe burst and started a small electrical fire. No one was injured in the fire, and light smoke was noted during the situation. Officials don’t expect the power to return until Friday at the earliest. For the time being, those displaced are being taken to area hotels or sent home with families. Law Day at South Suburban College: A Resounding Success!
South Suburban College (SSC) celebrated Law Day on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, marking a significant milestone in fostering legal education and awareness within the community. State Rep Walsh, Jr. Pushes Back On Request To Increase Truck Traffic On Route 53
State Rep. Larry Walsh Jr., (D-Elwood), has pushed back on a recent request to increase truck traffic on Illinois Route 53 (IL 53) made to the Illinois Department of. Transportation (IDOT) by the City of Joliet and “Northpoint,” the developer of the Third Coast Intermodal Hub project. Walsh opposed the request for change in a letter sent to IDOT on May 3rd.
