Greenbrier County man pleads guilty to gun crime

BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) — A man pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm.

According to court documents, on December 30, 2022, Jason Michael Tucker, 43, of Frankford sold a Ruger model Wrangler .22LR caliber revolver to an undercover police officer for $125 in Frankford. Tucker admitted to selling the gun and also admitted to selling an amount of heroin to him as well in the same location.

The law explains that a person with a prior felony cannot have a gun or any type of ammo. Tucker knew of this because of his prior felonies for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver in Monroe County Circuit Court on August 30, 2018, and for delivery of a controlled substance-marijuana in Greenbrier County Circuit Court on April 22, 2005.

Tucker is to be sentenced on July 26, 2024, and faces a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a $250,000 fine.
