A motorcycle crash on Highway 79, two miles north of Saverton, resulted in minor injuries for a New London man early Thursday morning. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Colin K. Baxter, 27, was traveling southbound on Highway 79 at 8:50 a.m. when his 2001 Honda VT-750 veered off the roadway, leading to his ejection from the motorcycle.

QUINCY — A Quincy man is in the Adams County Jail after being arrested last week in possession of at least one pound of methamphetamine. The Illinois State Police conducted a traffic stop in Quincy on Feb. 12. A canine assisted during the stop and found a large amount of methamphetamine, leading to the arrest of Matthew J. Steinkamp, 40. The West Central Illinois Task Force provided assistance during the arrest.

Clayton man accused of murder to undergo mental fitness exam
A Clayton man, accused of fatally shooting a Camp Point man in August, will be examined to see if he's mentally fit to go on trial. Wyond Bynum was in Adams County Circuit Court Wednesday, where a mental fitness exam was ordered. He'll be back in court April 24th. Bynum was indicted in early September by an Adams County Grand Jury. He faces three counts of 1st Degree Murder in the August 14th shooting death of Jaycob Rowland. The Adams County Sheriff's Office says the shooting happened just after Midnight August 14th at a home in the 500 block of Jefferson Street in Camp Point. Rowland was first taken to the Adams County EMS station in Camp Point. He was then rushed to Blessing Hospital, where he were pronounced dead. Rowland was shot several times during the incident.
