St. Mary’s robotics team goes to Dallas for international competition
The robotics team from St. Mary’s in Alexandria traveled to Dallas last month to compete in the International Robots Education & Competition’s world robotics championship. It’s the largest robotics tournament in the world, according to team advisor Tom Rowe. More than 1,500 teams representing 57 countries were there for the competition.
Varsity softball falls short to Butler
This past Monday, the girls’ varsity softball team lost to Butler, 3-2, at George Sauer Athletic Complex. Before the start of the game, the three softball senior players were celebrated for their four years of commitment and play, including Emilia Clemons (#18, 12), A’kajiah “AK” Sparrow (#2, 12) and Natalie Piccirilli (#27, 12). Players received bouquets and were celebrated alongside their parents, Principal Dr. Michael Newman and Athletic Director, David Zuberer. Clemons also had the honor of throwing out the first pitch.
