Remembering the EF3 tornado that hit Jefferson City and Eldon 5 years later
It has now been five years since the 2019 EF three tornado did damage to both Miller and Cole County, affecting many cities and its path, including Eldon and Jefferson City. The storm touched down just southwest of Eldon, traveled northeast through Miller County into Cole, and strengthened into an EF2 tornado with winds up to 135 mph. Southwest of the intersection of Heritage Highway and Highway 54, the tornado strengthened into an EF3 with a max width of 1500 yards.

Saturday morning kicked off one of Mid-Missouri's most anticipated events - the Pedaler's Jamboree. The Pedaler's Jamboree, or PedJam, is a bike and music festival hosted through Off Track Events every Memorial Day weekend for the last 15 years. It includes a scenic bike ride that starts in Columbia, tours the Katy Trail and ends Boonville with lots of stops for food and entertainment along the way.
