Loachapoka Elementary School teacher arrested after allegedly hitting 7-year-old student
OPELIKA, Ala. (WTVM) - A 1st grade teacher at Loachapoka Elementary School was arrested for assault after an incident involving a 7-year-old student. According to the Lee Co. Sheriff’s Office, 32-year-old Brittney Buford was arrested on May 9 for assault in the third degree. She was released on a $1,000 bond.

The most significant damage in the following multiple rounds of storms Thursday night and Friday morning was in downtown Tallassee. As the first round of rain and wind was coming through around 10 p.m. Thursday, it peeled back the roof of a building on Sistrunk Street in Tallassee.
