81-year-old man charged with second-degree murder in elderly woman’s death
An 81-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder after an 84-year-old woman was killed in a domestic incident in Fancy Gap. According to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a call on Sunday, April 28, reporting a domestic incident at 879 Autumn View Road in Fancy Gap.
Two local schools named to State performance honors
RICHMOND — The Virginia Board of Education on April 25 recognized two Carroll County Schools schools among 64 schools in the State for their high achievement and continued improvement as part of its Exemplar Performance School Recognition Program. The Exemplar School Recognition Program and its Exemplar Performance Awards recognizes schools that exceed board-established performance requirements or show continuous improvement on academic and school quality indicators.
